I’ve drawn Deku Princess from The Legend Of Zelda – Majora’s Mask. I didn’t even know her until one of my Instagram follower asked me to draw her. But I have to say she’s really a wonderful and colorful character and it was a lot of fun to draw her!

Hi!
If you follow me on Instagram you’ve already seen this drawing. I’ve once asked my Instagram followers what they would like me to draw. One of the answers was the Deku Princess πΈ from Majora’s Mask. Since I never played this game I didn’t know this character at all. I had to google for a nice screenshot of her to be able to draw her. I have to say she’s a wonderful and colorful characters and it was a lot of fun to draw her!
For my birthday π I got a book π called “Expedition Sketchbook” by “Cyarin”. I’ve read this book π completely (what is not common for me since I’m often having too less time) and found a very helpful drawing hint in it. When you take a picture πΈ of a colored drawing and desaturate it’s colors everything should still be recognizable clearly because of the contrast. That’s what makes drawing eye-catching. That’s what makes them stunning π€©. First I didn’t want to believe that. So I searched for traditionally created drawing which were eye-catching and made a screenshot of them. Then I desaturated them and ta-daaaaaaa she was completely right! It really seems to be like that!
This drawing is my first drawing using this technique. When I’m recording my drawing process my camera πΉ is connected to a small field monitor πΊ on which I can see what my camera is filming. This monitor I’ve now configured to show me a desaturated picture so I can always check that. You may recognize that now it takes me a lot longer to choose my colors. That’s because I’m checking if they build up enough contrast. It’s a lot of effort to consider that but according to my Instagram followers it pays off.
What do you think? Please write βοΈ it into the comments π¬section to let me know!
Thanks for watching and your support!
I love you! π
